Fun fact of the day: i had never seen lavender in real life until this year. As always i kept complaining about how i never can find anything from recipes that i find and lavender was one of those things. People kept telling me that we actually do have it but it was like a myth for me. Until i opened my eyes ahha
I’m in love! There’s nothing more beautiful and glorious than lavender! And i should even wait until it blooms! As far as i’ve seen from pictures at least, it keeps getting better and better! I promised myself one thing for this summer, i’ll be cooking, and baking and trying once a week (or more!) something new. And now that the weather is so warm, all i want is having cold, delicious drinks!
Looking for lavender drink recipes, i found the lavender infused lemonade and it definitely fitted my fridge. But i wanted something even more fresh so i change it up a bit.
In a bowl, put one cup of sugar, and a handful of lavender blossoms. Add 2 cups of boiling water and stir constantly until it melts. Cover with a napkin or a plate and let it rest for 30 min. I wouldn’t leave it more, because lavender tends to get really intense and you’ll end up feeling like you’re drinking medicine (trust me i learned the hard way).
Strain the lavender infused simple syrup and stir into a pitcher. Add 2 cups of soda and 1 cup of lemon juice. It’s going to look more like a lemonade, so i mixed 1 teaspoon of grenadine with 4 teaspoons blue curaçao. You can test the measurements to get the perfect shade of lavender.
